Vergne gets grid penalty for lost wheel
9 May 2014 – Jean-Éric Vergne has been hit with a 10-place grid drop for the Spanish Grand Prix after losing a wheel in practice.
Toro Rosso has also been fined €30,000 (£24,500) for the incident, which occurred in Friday's second session.
"This is regarded as a serious offence and the stewards are of the opinion that this was a significant breach of the safety requirements," read a report from the stewarding panel, which this weekend includes Danny Sullivan.
The FIA has requested that all cars are examined by the technical delegate once more to avoid a repeat.
