Sauber commissioned to develop bobsleigh
16 May 2014 – Sauber has been commissioned to develop and produce a bobsleigh for use in junior competition.
The company in charge of building the 'mono bob', SwissBob, has called on the expertise of the Swiss outfit after it beat six international rivals to get the go ahead from the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (FIBT).
Once development and production is completed, it will be used in the FIBT's new series for junior athletes.
"We're delighted that Swiss Bob AG has entrusted us with this ambitious project, and we're proud to be able to contribute to its success," Sauber Team Principal Monisha Kaltenborn said of the team's latest project.
One of the sled's first apperances will come at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer.
