Rosberg hoping for 'extra edge' in Monaco
17 May 2014 – Nico Rosberg says he is hoping to find an "extra edge" throughout next weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, as the German attempts to bring Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton's winning streak to an end.
After taking a dominant victory at the opening round of the season in Australia, Rosberg has finished second to Hamilton at every race, with the latter moving into the championship lead at Barcelona last time out.
"I was quite pleased with the last race weekend in Barcelona. Disappointed not to have won but happy that the team achieved another one-two finish," said Rosberg. "The championship battle is very close and to re-gain the advantage at my home race would be fantastic, so I'll be pushing harder than ever to make that happen.
"I had a productive day of testing in Barcelona where we made some good progress with braking and starts: two areas that I feel are costing me time at the moment. Hopefully that will give me the extra edge next weekend."
Rosberg claimed victory in Monte-Carlo last season, ahead of Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.
