Lotus to use new fuel mixture in Monaco
19 May 2014 – Lotus has revealed that it will run with new fuel from supplier Total at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.
As Formula 1 teams and their partners continue to learn more about the new turbocharged power units and their ancillary systems, further developments are being made to improve performance levels and boost reliability.
Technical Director Nick Chester said the refined fuel will come as part of a sizeable Monte-Carlo package.
"We'll be bringing some specific parts aimed at giving us more downforce at what is the highest downforce track of the year," Chester, who replaced James Allison early last season, said of the Enstone team's preparations.
"Other new parts will help tune the car for the bumpy and low speed track characteristics. The parts we've tested so far look good and we'll also have a new fuel from Total which should further improve power and driveability."
