Red Bull forced to alter nose on RB10
21 May 2014 – Red Bull will revert to mounting FOM cameras on the outside of the nose of the RB10 from the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, it has been reported.
During winter testing and the opening few races, the Milton Keynes-based outfit exploited a loophole in the rules to fix a camera inside the nose in the 'vanity' panel. According to German newspaper, Auto Motor under Sport, while this met the wording of the regulations, FOM was not pleased with the picture quality and despite changes for the Spanish Grand Prix, remained unhappy, especially as it meant it could not have a camera facing forwards and one facing backwards. As such, Red Bull will now use the 'standard' FIA mountings, like Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren et al.
