Rosberg's pole position under investigation
24 May 2014 – Nico Rosberg's Monaco Grand Prix pole position is being investigated by the stewards after he went off the track in the closing moments of Saturday afternoon's qualifying session and brought out the yellow flags.
Both Rosberg and team-mate Lewis Hamilton were on their final timed attempts in the shootout phase when Rosberg hit trouble under braking for Mirabeau, with the German subsequently taking to the escape road.
Hamilton had to back off under the waved yellow flags, bringing an end to his attempt, which the former World Champion claimed after the session would have been strong enough to take the top spot away from Rosberg.
Rosberg insists it was a simple error, but the stewards will now review television footage and telemetry.
