Rosberg elated after second Monaco win
25 May 2014 – Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg described as "very special" his second successive victory on the streets of Monte-Carlo.
The German, who started from pole position, controlled Sunday afternoon's race in the Principality to lead home team-mate Lewis Hamilton and retake the World Championship lead.
It also brought an end to Hamilton's run of four race victories, which had stretched from the Malaysian Grand Prix to the Spanish Grand Prix.
"This is a very, very special day," Rosberg, who now sits four points clear at the top of the standings, explained during the podium interviews.
"Lewis drove really well and pushed me massively hard. But I kept my cool and was able to win.
"It's fantastic. I'm very happy for the whole team. It's an amazing car they have built and given us this year."
