Forza Rossa gets F1 entry - reports
3 June 2014 – Forza Rossa has been cleared to join the Formula 1 field in either 2015 or 2016, it is being reported.
Although not yet official, it seems the FIA is now satisfied the project is viable, after previously announcing in April that it was 'in the process of conducting further investigations' into said concern.
FRR could, if the reports are correct, now appear on the grid next year.
The Romanian squad will be headed up by Ion Bazac, Romania's former Health Minister. He is also a Ferrari dealer in Romania, operating under the 'Forza Rossa' banner. Colin Kolles, former Team Principal at Force India and HRT, has also been linked to the fledging concern and it is understood the outfit will be run from Kolles' base in Germany.
Ferrari and Renault have both been mooted as possible engine suppliers.
Meanwhile, the other new team, set to be based in America and run by Gene Haas, is expected to defer its entry until 2016.
