Rosberg hails weekend progression
7 June 2014 – Mercedes' Nico Rosberg says a gradual weekend progression was the driving force behind his Canadian Grand Prix pole position.
Having trailed team-mate Lewis Hamilton in all sessions leading up to the final shootout, the German produced a 1:14.874 to seal the top spot.
"I know that it's a track where he [Hamilton] is very strong, so I'm very happy that it worked out," Rosberg explained after the session.
"Throughout the weekend we have been progressing, getting stronger and stronger. Now we're in the best position for tomorrow."
When pushed on what he has been doing to improve, Rosberg replied: "Just working at it all the time.
"I've been looking at data with the engineers and trying to improve the set-up. It's an onward process."
Rosberg holds a four-point lead over Hamilton in the championship standings ahead of Sunday's race.
