Vettel: Schumacher news a 'small miracle'
18 June 2014 – Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel has welcomed news this week regarding the health off seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher was taken to Grenoble's high dependency unit after suffering severe head injuries in a skiing accident on December 29. In a statement put on Monday, Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm said that he is now out of a coma, and has left Grenoble hospital "to continue his long phase of rehabilitation".
"This is fantastic and I think it is by far the best news we could get and of course it makes me very happy," Vettel told reporters, according to Motorsport Total, during a PR appearance before this weekend's Austrian GP.
"It is a huge step of which I am very pleased, especially if one remembers what happened a few months ago. Now it resembles a small miracle. Going forward, I wish him just the very best," Vettel added.
"I hope his recovery continues and that he and his family get the necessary rest in order to make further progress."
