Williams: We must capitalise on grid slots
21 June 2014 – Claire Williams says it is crucial that Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas capitalise on their front row grid slots in the Austrian Grand Prix.
Despite a promising start to the season, the outfit has failed to make the most of on track opportunities, leaving it sixth in the standings.
But Massa and Bottas now have their best chance of the year to secure the team's first win since 2012 and only its second since 2004.
"I'm not sure we necessarily expected this today," Deputy Team Principal Williams explained to Sky Sports after qualifying concluded.
"It's the result of a lot of hard work that's been going on behind the scenes for a long time now.
"I'm so happy for everybody in the team here and at [the factory in] Grove as well. They deserve this.
"I just hope we can work on a good strategy and capitalise on these positions. We've got to score lots of points."
Williams has 58 points to its name after the opening seven rounds, eight behind fifth-placed McLaren.
