Mark Sutton: Story behind the shot - Austria
26 June 2014 – Especially for lovers of motorsport photography, GPUpdate.net is this season running a feature series entitled Story behind the shot. Mark Sutton of Sutton Images, who provides our website with pictures, will choose his favourite photo from each Grand Prix weekend with a description as to how he captured it.
Canadian Grand Prix: Champagne showers
Mark Sutton: "I went straight into Parc Ferme as the flag dropped, queuing with the other 50-60 photographers. I was at the bottom of the podium taking pictures as Nico lifted his trophy, before I pointed my camera directly up at the exact moment that he came forward and sprayed the champage towards me. I knew straight away that it would produce a clean and perfect set of images. It is one of my favourites, showing emotion and success."
