Readers against standing restarts rule
27 June 2014 – The majority of GPUpdate.net readers are opposed to Formula 1's newly-ratified standing restarts rule.
From the 2015 season, a Safety Car period will be followed by a standing restart, except if it has been deployed within two laps of the start – or any given restart – or if there are fewer than five laps of the race remaining.
In a website poll, 71 per cent of voters were against the plan, one of numerous tweaks to the regulations.
