Parabolica gravel trap replaced with tarmac
7 August 2014 – Part of the gravel trap on the outside of Monza's Parabolica corner has been replaced with tarmac.
A thin strip of grass followed by a large area of gravel traditionally sat next to Parabolica, the final turn of the 5.793-km circuit, serving as a penalty to drivers who misjudged their entry and subsequently ran wide.
But photographs have emerged showing a portion of tarmac in place of gravel ahead of this year's race.
The Italian Grand Prix is the second event after the summer break, taking place from September 5-7.
