Alonso: Mercedes will struggle to keep peace
26 August 2014 – Fernando Alonso believes Mercedes will find it "difficult" to keep both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton happy this season.
Relations between the two plummeted to new lows in Belgium last weekend after they made contact on the second lap.
Hamilton later said Rosberg had admitted to deliberately crashing into him, subsequently denied by the German, and Alonso reckons the tension will only grow from now on as it is a "very narrow line to make everyone happy".
"They have been racing fantastically well all season and we have been saying how good they were fighting and how good the team was for letting them fight. Bahrain, for example, was a fantastic fight and a fantastic race that everyone enjoyed," Alonso told reporters at Spa, according to ESPNF1.com.
"They have touched a little bit [on track now] and there will be some talks about this, but it's difficult.
"If a team lets the drivers fight and they don't touch, that team is fantastic. But when they do touch that team is not good anymore.
"It's a very narrow line to make everyone happy. They are leading both championships with big margins though, so they are doing something good."
