In photos: Bottas on tour with Mercedes
15 February 2017 – A month after signing for Mercedes, and being shown around the team's UK bases, Valtteri Bottas headed to Stuttgart, Germany to visit Daimler's headquarters. GPUpdate.net covers his wide-ranging tour.
First up, Bottas posed for a photograph next to the Daimler sign on a chilly winter's day in southern Germany.
Bottas posed for a headshot and an employee card was then presented to Mercedes' new recruit.
Bottas was even allocated his own locker for the day as he got down to work at Daimler's headquarters.
Bottas spent time on the shop floor, recalling a similar job during his early days on the junior racing scene.
Afterwards, Bottas was mobbed by staff who wanted selfies, and the nine-time podium finisher duly obliged.
Bottas made use of his card in the canteen, where he sat down for lunch with a host of new colleagues.
The Finn then spoke to staff and added his signature to merchandise – a task he'll have to get used to.
Bottas also spent time in the Mercedes-Benz museum, taking a look at some of the brand's iconic cars.
He managed to get his hands on Mercedes' 2017-spec Formula 1 challenger, the W08 Hybrid...
Then there was a final meet and greet, next to Mercedes-Benz's array of historic machinery.
