The inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix has been acclaimed as a great success by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the General Organisation for Youth and Sports, and CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit.

"I am delighted with the way the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix went," said the Shaikh. "What a great distance we have come since announcing the date of the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix ago at the 2002 Italian Grand Prix in Monza, or since FIA President Max Mosley's first visit our country."

"Philippe Gurdjian is a man capable of succeeding even in extreme challenges," he added of the Executive F1 Consultant who has organised no  fewer than twenty F1 Grand Prix and currently presides over the grand redevelopment of Le Castellet  - the area which includes the state of the art High Tech Test Track of Paul Ricard.

"The Formula 1 Grand Prix this year has been the first milestone of racing in the Kingdom of Bahrain," explained the Shaikh. "We will continue to make improvements for an even better facility in 2005."
