Continued rain showers at Silverstone washed out the third day of testing this week on Thursday as Williams, McLaren, and Renault attended the circuit. Running was very limited but for the few laps completed Williams' tester Antonio Pizzonia finished fastest.

Pizzonia completed just 14 laps to clock the best time of 1m32.454s, 0.8s ahead of Ralf Schumacher in the sister BMW WilliamsF1 FW26. Between them the pair completed 26 laps. Weather conditions were so poor that the session was stopped because of the sheer volume of standing water on the track surface.

McLaren Mercedes once again fielded three drivers for what is was worth in the poor conditions. Testers Alex Wurz and Pedro de la Rosa finished third and fourth fastest while Kimi Raikkonen was sixth quickest - between them the three cars managed 39 laps in the poor weather conditions.

Renault again had Franck Montagny and Jarno Trulli on hand, but the team only completed twelve laps.

Testing at Silverstone concludes tomorrow.
