Continual rain meant that BMW WilliamsF1 drivers Ralf Schumacher and Antonio Pizzonia were severely restricted regarding the number of laps they could complete on Thursday at Silverstone. In the wet conditions both drivers carried out evaluations of various compounds and wet weather tyres for Michelin.
Tim Newton (Test Team Manager) commented, "Ralf and Antonio were on testing duty for the team today, with both drivers once again topping the time sheets. With saturated conditions once again disturbing the running at the Northamptonshire track, Ralf and Antonio continued as best they could with the scheduled programme, concentrating on systems checks, set-ups and tyre exploration work."
