'Bureaucrats' to thwart London GP
'A layer of bureaucracy [which] doesn't want anything to happen' is likely to thwart all efforts to bring a Formula One street-race to England's capital.
That's the pessimistic view of Tuesday's 'F1 Comes to Regent Street' parade promoter Harvey Goldsmith amid reports the city mayor would support a GP bid. We could do it, Goldsmith told London's the 'Evening Standard.'
But said the 'bureaucrats' in question spend their 'whole lives' finding 'thousands of reasons' why ground-breaking international events 'can't happen.'
F1 boss Eddie Jordan thinks a London GP would be 'something else.'
