Bahrain wants more tourists

Bahrain would like around 'double' the number of European tourists to travel to the Middle East for next April's grand prix.

This year, for the inaugural Formula One event, Gulf Air flew about 1000 passengers on special GP packages to Bahrain.

"We are confident of attracting more visitors from Europe (in 2005)," leisure marketing manager Mark Senior told local newspaper Gulf Daily News.
