Vallés: F2 is a serious consideration

6 October 2010

Spain’s Adrián Vallés has said that Formula 2 is high on his list of priorities, with the general motorsport ‘silly season’ for 2011 now very much underway. The news follows a recent F2 test for the 2009 Superleague Formula Champion at Valencia.

Now 24, the Alicante driver has already amassed race experience in the World Series by Renault and GP2, as well as the Superleague Formula, plus Formula 1 tests with Midland and Spyker in 2006 and 2007.

“I can say it's good for motorsport, a championship like this,” he commented following his first attempt in the Williams-built F2 machine.

“The car is nice to drive, it's fast enough to show how good you are and it's challenging for the driver.

“Of course F2 is a serious consideration for us next year. The championship already has the name, I just think it needs to be given a bit of time.

“You can keep trying in GP2, but if you’re are not with a good team you can be a good driver but unable to show it because you struggle with the car - you have to be competitive but if you don't have the right team its always hard.

“Here, if the car's balance is not right for you; at least you know that everyone else will be in a similar or the same situation, so you can forget about it and just drive.”
