Formula 2 Champion Dean Stoneman is impressed by the modified Snetterton Circuit, which he visited last Friday courtesy of an invitation from Jonathan Palmer, head of track owners MotorSport Vision.

Stoneman, who had been confirmed in Formula Renault 3.5 for 2011, has been forced to place his racing commitments on hold as he receives treatment for testicular cancer, although the 20-year-old was delighted to enjoy a welcome break last week.

“It was great to have the opportunity to see the new Snetterton layout,” he said, having toured the track with Palmer in a BMW X6 road car.

“They have included some superb medium and fast corners and Russell in particular now looks very interesting and challenging! I now can't wait to try it for size in a race car as soon as I'm able to.”

It has also now been confirmed that the modified Norfolk venue has passed all relevant inspections ahead of the racing season.
