Bortolotti: We must keep pushing

10 August 2011

Formula 2 championship leader Mirko Bortolotti says he will not change his mindset during the final three rounds of the season, with the Trento-born driver vowing to give '100 percent' every time he goes out on-track. The 2008 Italian Formula 3 Champion has won four of the ten races so far this year, only twice missing out on a podium spot.

"I’m feeling very good, I’m very happy with the job we did until now," he told GPUpdate.net. "I think that we did a very good job during testing and the season so far has been very good for us. That was obviously the whole aim at the beginning.

"At the moment I’m not thinking about other stuff, I think that we’ve done a very good job until now and we have to keep doing what we did. That’s our aim, so we have to push every time, giving 100 percent and trying to get the maximum number of points in every race. Then at the end of the year we will do the calculations."

Bortolotti went on to talk about the next event at the newly-refurbished Red Bull Ring, with the category making its first visit to the iconic Austrian venue this year.

"I’m looking forward to the next race in Spielberg, it’s going to be exciting because nobody knows the track so we’ll see how we’re going to do there," he added. "For F2 it’s the first time they go there with the cars, so we’ll have to do a good job during the free practice sessions to find a good balance and be ready for qualifying and the race."
