New to the schedule for 2012 are the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal, classic French venue Paul Ricard and the well-known Hungaroring.

"After three very successful seasons of the FIA Formula Two Championship, our 2012 calendar is based around Grand Prix circuits, which our F1 focused drivers favour," said the category's Series Director Jonathan Palmer. "F2 will continue to provide drivers with substantial track time and learning opportunity at each of these exceptional venues.

"No other championship offers such an enticing combination of outstanding value, vehicle performance and the chance to race on so many F1 circuits."

The 2012 F2 calendar is as follows:

1 Apr 13-15, Great Britain (Silverstone)
2 Apr 27-29, Portugal (Algarve)
3 May 25-27, Germany (Nürburgring)
4 Jun 22-24, Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps)
5 Jul 13-15, Great Britain (Brands Hatch)
6 Jul 20-22, France (Paul Ricard)
7 Sep 7-9, Hungary (Hungaroring)*
