Nakajima targets title attack

22 February 2010

Daisuke Nakajima plans to waste no time in challenging for the British Formula 3 title this season, having been confirmed at Räikkönen Robertson Racing for the second consecutive year. With brother Kazuki currently out of a Formula 1 drive, Daisuke hopes to keep up family spirits.

As sons of former F1 racer Satoru, both brothers hold different aims for 2010; with ex Williams man Kazuki still hoping for a place on the F1 grid with hopeful team Stefan GP, Daisuke aims for top marks in BF3 after enjoying a pole position and two podium finishes in his maiden season.

"First of all, I'm extremely grateful to my sponsors - in particular Honda - who have shown such faith in me to support me again in 2010," commented Nakajima Jr, who finished seventh overall in the 2009 standings. "I am extremely grateful for this opportunity that they have made possible for me.

"I'm very excited now and can't wait for the season-opener at Oulton Park. Since the 2009 season finished, I've remained in close contact with Double R and have been very impressed with the work the team has been doing over the winter. I'm very confident that we are going to be one of the strongest teams on the grid and am looking forward to getting back in the car for testing."

2010's first official pre-season test session will be staged at Norfolk's Snetterton circuit on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
