The ART Grand Prix team has confirmed that Britain's Alexander Sims will be making his first appearance in British Formula 3 next weekend for the second race meeting of the 2010 season at Silverstone. The French team will be present in Northamptonshire with a 3-car line-up.

With ART having contested a number of races in Britain last year, the squad which won last year's European F3 title with Jules Bianchi is pleased to return for a one-off appearance.

"I'm extremely excited," said Alex. "It's a chance to try something new and will be a real challenge both for myself and for the team."

With Sims confirmed at ART, Taiwan's Kevin Chen is also hoping for a seat at Silverstone with the Sino Vision Racing team although he is currently marooned in China due to the restrictions from European air traffic control.

"We have signed Kevin for selected races but of course he is stuck in China," explained team boss Chris Churchill. "He was due to join us at the test on Wednesday at Silverstone but we just don't know when he will be able to get here."
