Mäki and Zanella to return with Motopark Academy

22 July 2010

The Motopark Academy team has confirmed that deals have been sealed with both Finland’s Mika Mäki and Switzerland’s Christopher Zanella, signalling that the duo will return to the Formula 3 Euro Series in the second half of the season.

For Mäki (top), the return promises much following his regular top performances throughout the 2008 and 2009 championships with Mücke Motorsport and Signature-Plus.

Zanella, on the other hand, is rejoining the team he drove with last year, having finished on a high by achieving second place at Hockenheim.

“We were looking for two experienced drivers as team-mates for our rookies,” Team Principal Timo Rumpfkeil explained.

“On the one hand, António Félix da Costa und Matias Laine will benefit from their experience and, on the other, we believe that Mika and Christopher will help us to regularly secure top six results.”
