15-year-old Jake Dennis has been officially congratulated by national British motorsport governing body the MSA for picking up victory in the first round of the CIK-FIA U18 World Karting Championship in Germany at the weekend.
As Formula 1 raced at Hockenheim, Dennis and fellow karters were competing at the Wackersdorf circuit as Jake – backed by the Racing Steps Foundation and currently leading the MSA British Junior Kart Championship – collected most points from Round 1 of the three-round championship, beating over 60 international competitors in the process.
“The race at Wackersdorf was one of the biggest of the year, so it felt incredible to win and is definitely one of my greatest achievements in karting so far,” said Jake, who hails from Leicestershire.
“I was confident heading into the race because I knew I would be quick and I had plenty of experience from the MSA British Junior Kart Championship to rely on.”
