Top three drivers to earn World Series test

2 August 2010

It has been confirmed that the highest-placed trio of drivers in this season’s Formula 3 Euro Series will be treated to a test run in a World Series by Renault car. On top of that, two from the current field also receive a bonus run in a German DTM touring car.

With this season’s Euro Series set to come to a close at Hockenheim on Sunday 17 October, the World Series test will be held at Spain’s Motorland Aragón circuit just three days later.

Previously, drivers such as Formula 1’s Robert Kubica have progressed from the Euro Series to the World Series before winning Grands Prix in the World Championship.

On top of this, this year’s best-placed Mercedes entrant is guaranteed a DTM test in an AMG Mercedes C-Class whereas the highest Volkswagen-powered man will be driving an Audi A4 DTM machine.

At present, Italy’s Edoardo Mortara heads the Euro Series standings from Germany’s Marco Wittmann and Finland’s Valtteri Bottas. Alex Sims is the highest-placed British driver, currently fourth in the championship table for ART Grand Prix.
