Vanthoor excited about return to Nürburgring

6 August 2010

The Formula 3 Euro Series tackles the challenge of the Nürburgring this weekend, with the end of the first race marking the halfway point in the 18-round schedule of 2010. Belgium’s Laurens Vanthoor, having raced at the venue in the past, is particularly excited about visiting the Eiffel Mountain location once again.

Following a total eight races so far at Paul Ricard, Hockenheim, Valencia and the Norisring, Vanthoor lies seventh in the championship.

“For me, the Nürburgring is a special track,” said the Signature-Plus driver. “First of all it is close to Belgium, where I live, and secondly I won an early title in the German F3 Cup there last year.

“So far, this season hasn't been as good as 2009 for me. In the first few races I had bad luck but I also made mistakes. However, I think that I am on the right tracks. There are still ten races remaining and a lot of things can still happen.”
