Belgium’s Laurens Vanthoor set the pace as Formula 3 Euro Series practice took place at Germany’s Nürburgring on Friday morning. The Signature-Plus driver led the way from Italian team-mate and championship leader Edoardo Mortara as Finn Valtteri Bottas made the top three for ART.
Conditions were good as the green pit exit light illuminated in the Eiffel Mountains, with Vanthoor – who was particularly upbeat about visited the venue – leading the way with a best effort of 1:23.411, edging out his team-mate by just 67 thousandths of a second.
In seventh and eighth spots, Alexander Sims is the leading British representative for ART Grand Prix and the returning Mika Mäki continues to readjust to the series upon making his return with Motopark Academy.
