Organisers of the Formula 3 Euro Series have announced that a noteworthy renovation is planned for the championship ahead of upcoming seasons. Changes are likely to include increasing race numbers to three per weekend and extending testing time on Formula 1 circuits.
With British F3 having switched from a double-header format to a tri-race weekend system for 2010, its European counterpart looks likely to do the same in due course as the F3 Euro Series strives to focus more on young driver development and cost-efficiency for the teams competing.
Both test and race time will be increased, with the calendar likely to feature ten meetings per season, and the current teams have already confirmed that they wish to remain in the series for 2011.
