The Let’s Go Karting scheme, set up and run by the United Kingdom’s MSA (Motor Sports Association) just two years ago and which offers full karting sessions for just five pounds, has recently celebrated hitting the 10,000 mark.
Heavily subsidised by the MSA, the Let’s Go programme currently operates at 20 venues in the UK, providing karts, safety equipment and qualified instructors in order to allow members of the general public to enjoy the adrenaline rush karting provides.
“Let’s Go Karting is a fundamental part of the MSA’s strategy to get more people involved in motor sport,” explains MSA Chief Executive Colin Hilton.
“It has been hugely successful, not only in terms of attracting new recruits but also in demonstrating that motor sport is not exclusive and elitist.
“Of course, the full benefits of this type of programme are rarely seen in terms of licence increases in the early years, but we know anecdotally that it is having a very positive impact on the sport.”
