Bottas claims Oschersleben pole

Valtteri Bottas took pole position this evening for race 1 of the Formula 3 Euro Series at Oschersleben in Germany, the penultimate round of the season. Bottas headed an ART Grand Prix one-two, replicating the result from practice this morning, although this time he was ahead of team-mate Alexander Sims.

Bottas’ best lap was a 1 minute 20.412 seconds, six tenths up on Sims, while Motopark Academy man Felix da Costa was third, just 0.071 seconds further back.

Behind Prema Powerteam’s Daniel Juncadella completes the second row followed by Roberto Merhi and Laurens Vanthoor.

Further down the order Jim Pla and Carlos Munoz were seventh and eighth ahead of Edoardo Mortara and Marco Wittmann.

Nicolas Marroc, Renger van der Zande, Matias Laine and Tobias Hegewald filled positions 11 through to 14.
