Nasr quickest on Tuesday at Rockingham

22 September 2010

Räikkönen Robertson driver Felipe Nasr led the way as the first of two days’ British Formula 3 testing commenced at Rockingham on Tuesday. Behind the Brazilian, third-placed team-mate Daisuke Nakajima ensured that the pair of Double R cars sandwiched the Carlin of Champion Jean-Eric Vergne on the timesheets.

Ahead of this weekend’s 2010 championship finale at Brands Hatch, into which National Class leaders Menasheh Idafar and James Cole head duelling for the title, Nasr finished atop the Rockingham timesheets with a best effort of 1:12.502.

Behind, Vergne missed P1 by just over three tenths of a second as, behind third-placed Nakajima, the second Carlin of Adriano Buzaid and leading Hitech of highest-placed Briton Will Buller completed the top five.

It was Idafar on top in the National Class, with his T-Sport edging out team-mate Cole’s by half a second courtesy of a 1:13.785 lap time.

Testing continues at Rockingham on Wednesday
