Following up from his rapid pace in Rockingham testing earlier this week, Brazil’s Felipe Nasr has clichéd the final British Formula 3 pole positions of the year at Brands Hatch on Saturday morning. The Räikkönen Robertson driver will share this afternoon’s Race 1 front row with Carlin man and leading Briton James Calado.
Brands Hatch in Kent marks the final meeting for this year’s season - Rounds 28, 29 and 30. With qualifying setting the grid positions for two of those races, Double R and Carlin lead the way as Williams Buller and Daniel McKenzie, of Hitech and Fortec respectively, confirm four teams in the top four places.
With a second Fortec of Oli Webb making the top five, as have three of his compatriots, Champion Jean-Eric Vergne has posted the sixth-best effort for Carlin with other British drivers Rupert Svendsen-Cook, Jay Bridger and Alex Brundle 10th, 12th and 14th.
However, it is the National Class battle which is yet to be sewn up and of the two T-Sport team-mates contending for honours Bahrain’s Menasheh Idafar is some eight tenths of a second quicker than Britain’s James Cole – the pair have registered respective finishing positions of 15th and 19th overall.
