Nasr penalised, hands poles to McKenzie and Webb

25 September 2010

Brazilian Felipe Nasr and the Räikkönen Robertson Racing team has been stripped of both British Formula 3 pole positions they achieved at Brands Hatch on Saturday morning, with stewards having discovered that the lap times in question were set under waved yellow flags.

Courtesy of the short lap offered by the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, Nasr was able to post his two quickest lap times in the final minute of qualifying although they were investigated by the stewards after the session.

The revelation – which also resulted in James Calado, Will Buller, Daisuke Nakajima, Jay Bridger, Alex Brundle, Lucas Foresti and Hywel Lloyd losing best times - means that Fortec driver Daniel McKenzie (top), the 2009 National Class Champion, will start from pole for Sunday’s 40-minute Feature Race.

Fortec team-mate Oli Webb will set off from the front in today’s 30-minute encounter, though, courtesy of his second-best qualifying time which always determines the first race grid.

- Revised Qualifying results

Saturday’s 28th round of the 30-race season begins at 2:05pm local time (BST)
