Carlin reveals all-rookie line-up for Macau

6 October 2010

British Formula 3 Champions Carlin have announced which four drivers will be spearheading its line-up for this year’s prestigious Macau Grand Prix, which will be staged next month. Between them, Jean-Eric Vergne, James Calado, Jazeman Jaafar and António Félix da Costa also bring in four different nationalities.

Progressing from British F3 this season, Champion Vergne hails from France whereas runner-up Calado is the British representative and Jaafar is Malaysian. Portugal’s Félix da Costa, on the other hand, has competed in the inaugural season of GP3 with Carlin this year.

“I'm obviously very happy to be going to Macau,” said Vergne, who will need to rush to the venue directly after his young drivers’ Formula 1 test for Toro Rosso in Abu Dhabi. “I might still miss first practice but I'm confident that we’ll be okay.

“It's the biggest race of the season for me, the track looks amazing and every F3 driver I have spoken to says it's the best track in the world.”
