Second Macau qualifying session postponed
19 November 2010 – The second and grid-deciding qualifying session for this year’s prestigious Macau Grand Prix has been postponed after delays on Friday did not allow for sufficient time.
The morning’s second practice session was cut down from 45 to 30 minutes following a lengthy wait for track repairs at Maternity Bend due to an incident in a sports car event session, with Formula 3 practice itself also being held up by a red flag.
Despite this, qualifying was looking to take place today before the World Touring Car session also proved to be time-consuming due to stoppages, with nightfall then beginning to darken the street circuit.
A new Saturday time for qualifying is yet to be arranged although, with Race 1 scheduled for 1:45pm local time (GMT +8), a morning slot seems most likely.
