The T-Sport British Formula 3 team has announced that The Netherlands’ Bart Hylkema will be joining Menasheh Idafar and Yann Cunha for this year’s campaign, with the debutant first entering the championship’s brand-new Rookie Class.
Hylkema follows in the footsteps of brother Thomas, with recent races having taken place in karting and the Formula Renault Eurocup. For 2011, he will also be following in the footsteps of Idafar who, with the same T-Sport team last year, wrapped up the National Class title.
“It’s great to join forces with T-Sport for the 2011 British Formula 3 International Series,” he commented. “The work I’ve done so far with the team has been very productive and I feel confident we can achieve great results together. I’ve always rated British Formula 3 as the strongest of its kind and I look forward being part of it this year.”
Team Principal Russell Eacott added: “We’re very happy that Bart has joined us to contest the new Rookie Championship in 2011. Like Menasheh before him, Bart is going to have a development season so he is ready for the International Class next year.”
