Motopark Academy confirms four drivers
28 March 2011 – The Motopark Academy Formula 3 team has confirmed a quartet of drivers for this year’s Euro Series, which begins at Paul Ricard in France this weekend.
With Gianmarco Raimondo, Kuba Giermaziak, Kimiya Sato and Jimmy Eriksson are the four drivers in question, with Team Principal Timo Rumpfkeil is confident that the latest signings in the four-way line-up can prove a success.
“With a race win and several other podium finishes, Jimmy Eriksson can look back on a successful 2010 season in the German Formula 3 Cup,” Rumpfkeil said. “Therefore, his step up to the Formula 3 Euro Series makes sense.
“We have known Kimiya Sato since he contested the Macau Grand Prix for us. It's true, his Macau weekend was anything but trouble-free, but in the tests he executed for us prior to and after Macau he delivered in fine style. I'm delighted with having been able to sign him as he has two years of Japanese Formula 3 experience under his belt.”
