British F3: Autodromo Nazionale Monza 2011: Saturday qualifying results

Fortec Motorsport’s Will Buller secured pole position for both Race 1 and 3 at Monza on Saturday afternoon, with the Briton upsetting the practice form book to edge out Kevin Magnussen around the 5.793-km (3.600-mi) circuit. Lucas Foresti and Jazeman Jafaar were the last men under the 1:46.000 barrier, and will form the second row for the first race of the 2011 campaign.

After the session, Buller commented: "It’s a great way to start the season. It just shows that it’s the first qualifying session that matters and not all the pre-season testing times. The whole team has put in a massive amount of hard work to get us here, and I’d like to thank each and every member for their dedication. Qualifying is all about managing your tyres and I nailed it today."

Carlos Huertas is the next man on the Race 1 grid at the wheel of his Carlin machine after setting a time of 1:46.000, while Riki Christodoulou lines up just behind the Colombian. Exeter-born Harry Tincknell will start from the third row, with Felipe Nasr just 0.017 seconds behind. Pietro Fantin secured ninth, while practice pace-setter Rupert Svendsen-Cook completed the top ten.

Saturday’s Race 1 begins at 4.40pm local time (BST+1)
