Nasr hails ‘very important’ victory
25 April 2011 – Felipe Nasr has described the victory he secured in Race 3 at Oulton Park as crucial in terms of his bid to win the 2011 British F3 title, with the Brazilian driver taking home another 41 points this bank holiday weekend. The 2009 Formula BMW Europe Champion has finished on the podium in all bar one of the races so far this season, and he was left content after another strong event.
"It’s very important for the championship, so another great weekend," Nasr told GPUpdate.net after the final race. "We finished second in the first race then fifth in the second one and now we have finally got another win for our team. I’m happy now leading the championship even more, so it’s pretty good."
Nasr went on to talk about the pressure applied by Lucas Foresti, although he revealed that he had more pace available if needed: "Once I got two seconds to him I just started taking it easy, saving a bit of my tyres because I knew if he got close there was more to come. It was just being under control in the race, there were no mistakes, putting in good laps and being consistent."
