British F3: Snetterton 2011: Friday

Felipe Nasr established himself at the top of the timesheets during both practice sessions at the new Snetterton 300 circuit on Friday. The Brazilian driver led the combined times by a margin of 0.348 seconds over Carlin team-mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook, while William Buller set the third fastest time of the day.

Pipo Derani ended his time behind the wheel in fourth place for Double R Racing, while Welshman Hywel Lloyd posted an effort just 14 thousandths slower than the São Paulo-born man. Carlin's Kevin Magnussen was next up in sixth, with the Dane looking to make up for a disappointing weekend at Oulton Park last time out.

Volkswagen-powered Pietro Fantin was net up in the first of the Hitech Racing machines, while Carlos Huertas claimed eighth after competing in the opening round of the Formula 3 International Trophy at Hockenheim a fortnight ago. Harry Tincknell did enough for ninth, while Australia's Scott Pye completed the top ten runners.

Saturday’s qualifying session begins at 10:40am local time (BST)
