Nasr takes double pole at Snetterton
14 May 2011 – Felipe Nasr claimed both pole positions on offer during qualifying at Snetterton this morning, with both his second quickest lap his outright fastest time strong enough to line up at the front for Race 1 and Race 1. Kevin Magnussen will line alongside the Brazilian in both races, after grabbing two second place starts.
Overcast skies were present as the green light came on at the end of the pit lane, with Magnussen promptly jumping to the top of the timesheets. The Dane held that position for much of the session, but Nasr completed a blistering lap on his second run to grab pole from his Carlin team-mate.
Behind Nasr and Magnussen on the Race 1 grid (determined by second fastest laps), Riki Christodoulou will start from a personal best third place, just ahead of Columbia’s Carlos Huertas in fourth. Rupert Svendsen-Cook did enough to edge out Pietro Fantin and Jazeman Jaafar, while Hywel Lloyd, William Buller and Harry Tincknell completed the top ten.
Svendsen-Cook lines up in third behind Nasr and Magnussen on the Race 3 grid, edging out Christodoulou for the first spot on the second row. Carlos Huertas is next up, with fellow FIA F3 International Trophy driver Jaafar in sixth. Fantin and Derani will form the fourth row, while Tincknell and Lloyd start from ninth and tenth respectively.
Race 1 begins at 2.55pm local time (BST)
