Mücke Motorsport driver Nigel Melker has been named as the winner of this morning’s opening race at the Norisring, after initial race winner Laurens Vanthoor was penalised along with seven other drivers.
30-second time penalties were issued to Vanthoor, Marco Wittmann, Roberto Merhi, Jimmy Eriksson, Kimiya Sato, Kuba Giermaziak, Alon Day and Carlos Muñoz for 'speeding' under yellow flags.
Vanthoor drops to second place as a result of the stewards’ decision, while Signature-Plus team-mate Wittmann falls down to third.
