Felipe Nasr says he had to work hard to secure his sixth victory of the season at Paul Ricard, with second place man António Félix da Costa keeping him under pressure throughout the race. The Carlin driver crossed the line 1.295 seconds ahead of his Portuguese rival at the finish, while team-mate Carlos Huertas completed the rostrum.

"I saw that Kevin (Magnussen) got a bad start and I got a very good one; no-one was near me into the first corner," Nasr explained after taking the win.

"But I got a lot of pressure from António. He tried once, in Turn 11, to put his nose in but I got away from that. After that I was just trying to pull a gap. It was a hard win; he was in my mirrors the whole race."

Nasr's victory takes him to a total of 217 points in the overall championship standings, 94 points ahead of nearest rival and fellow Brazilian Lucas Foresti.
