Felipe Nasr believes he should have won this morning’s damp British F3 race at Silverstone, explaining that some of the cars around him were fitted with wet tyres after the cut-off three minute board had been shown. The Brazilian ultimately finished seventh, losing out in a close battle to the line with Carlin team-mate Jack Harvey.
The tyre regulation in question gives a time deadline for drivers deliberating a potential compound change, and Nasr believes this was broken by many drivers.
"As you know it was wet this morning, and when I went out for the reconnaissance laps I had slicks on," Nasr explained to GPUpdate.net after the race. "Then when we got to the grid the three minute board came out and they (other drivers) changed to wets. If we were going by the regulations, I should have won."
Nasr has been crowned the 2011 British F3 Champion for more than a month, sealing it with a podium finish during the last Rockingham race in September.
