Prema Powerteam's Robert Merhi stormed to pole position for both the first and third races at Hockenheim this weekend, beginning the season finale in dominant fashion. Fresh from revealing that his final target for 2011 was to grab all three wins in a weekend, the Spaniard outpaced Felix Rosenqvist and Carlos Sainz Jr. to the top spot.

Having underlined his pace early on, Merhi went out again and set an impressive time of 1:31.893 with less than five minutes remaining. Daniel Abt, Laurens Vanthoor and Marco Wittmann line up just behind fellow Signature driver Sainz Jr. on the Race 3 grid, with Nigel Melker and Daniel Juncadella completing the top eight.

The Race 1 grid positions, determined from second fastest lap times, sees Merhi start in front of Rosenqvist and Sainz Jr. once again, with Vanthoor this time slotting in ahead of Abt and Wittmann. Dutchman Nigel Melker is next up in seventh place, doing just enough to put his car ahead of Juncadella with his second quickest effort.

Saturday's Race 1 begins at 11.25am local time (BST +1)
